Is This Sailing Race Perhaps The Toughest In The World?

All you sailboat racers out there will find this Race to Alaska event enthralling… and if you’re not a racing enthusiast then it’s an emotional story of tears, triumph and tribulation set against truly adverse conditions to test even the toughest sailors regardless of their ability…

The race itself involves a prize of $10,000 which is nailed to a tree. It can take between three days and two months to complete through seven hundred and fifty miles of wildest British Columbia to reach the finish line in Alaska. The racers finishing second get a cheap set of steak knives and those afterwards nothing. There’s no rules, no handicaps or categories, just raw courage and bad luck along the way…
